Contextualizin’ is the second album to feature Ian Carey’s forward-thinking quintet, which he has frequently performed with in S.F. Bay Area club settings since 2003. Features performances of eight striking originals by the gifted Oakland (CA)-based trumpeter/composer that fulfill the promise writers and broadcasters hailed upon the release in 2006 of his debut CD SINK/SWIM.
